Challenge

Homefield came to Coast with the goal of scaling their Google Ads efforts. When we started the engagement, most of the advertising dollars were invested into Smart Shopping, with a fraction being invested into paid search. The shopping campaigns were broken out by school-advertised in order to allocate specific budgets to specific locations. This strategy ended up generating a 300% ROAS on a monthly basis and Homefield was looking for opportunities to scale.

Unique solution

The solution was three-fold:

Since Smart Shopping campaigns require a lot of conversion data in order to optimize effectively, we consolidated all of the Smart Shopping campaigns into a single campaign, maximizing campaign-level conversions and aligning the campaign to best practices.

We expanded the search campaigns using search terms that have converted for Homefield in the past and breaking them out into their own campaigns. This data-driven approach increases ROAS and gives us room to test more tactics.

We created a display remarketing campaign to ensure we were nurturing users on their path to purchase, especially if they navigated off the website or completed a high-value task without purchasing, like adding to their cart or abandoning the checkout page.
